hey im fixin onbuyin a soft top off this guy on craigslist its the kind tah snaps down is there a trick to lineling up the snaps because i dont have the snappy things on my truck so id have to add them lemme know ..im gonna go get it tomarrow

You'll basically want to lay the top down and start from the middle and work towards the corners/ends. You want to keep the top tight, but at the same time, not stretch it creating bunches in any areas such as in the corners.

how much you paying for the soft top? I want one soo bad but im not the most mechanically inclined and i live in apartment complex which makes it even more difficult. The only one i was able to find was around $700.00...please let me know if anyone has found some newer soft tops for the k5's (mines an 89) that are cheaper

oh im buyin it off this guy a couplke towns over for 400 he paid aroun 900 new a couple years ago.yeh he said it should fit my truck im guessin the demensions didnt change that much for that part of the truck ..im guessin id just drape the top over the truck and mark where the snaps hit im not sure how you attatch the snap part to the sheetmetal on yer truck pop rivet ??i dunno if anyones done it befor and got someideas thatd make it go smoother so i dont **** up the fit of the new top lemme know

yeh so i got that soft top and its missin a bunch ofbrackets and **** first time ive regreted a purchase on craigslist i went on kayline soft top web site but of course there outta buissness so ill be makein brackets and other missin parts on my own if anyone has a kayline top lemme know i got instructions online but if i had some measurements of brackets itd be a little easier if not ill make it work

you can try to find the brackets on ebay who knows someone might be selling or has extra its worth a try

my plan for a top is to just make one. my dads girlfriend is VERY good with a sewing machine and we can buy vying from some shop over here. take some measurements and craft one up. if it turns out good i might even start selling them!!!! who knows. that will probably be next summer though seeing as how its getting cold out pretty early this year.
