Transfer case
I have a 84 K5, it was a 305 with a turbo 350, I am tryng to find out which transfer case I have, the parts store tells me I have a NP208
but the tag is
14008226
26 79 205
does anyone have a book that can tell me for sure
back in the 1970's I worked in a autoparts, in them days we had books that we could read the numbers and tell you for sure.
I miss them days, now everything is on the computer.
I do imagine that there is a disk with all the info I want.
But I dont have access to it.

Should be the NP208. It looks as though that was the only transfer case available in 84.

Unless somebody changed it, it is a NP208. Is the tag blue and silver and round? If so it will have the build date and case model number stamped into it. A NP208 is all aluminum, a NP203 and NP205 are cast iron.

Just curious, what is the difference between a 208 and a 241C?. Seems to me that there are a whole lot of different T Cases for these buggies.

The 241 was developed to superceed the 208. The main thing that comes to mind for anyone looking for a new transfer case is the 208 utilizes a speedometer cable and the 241 uses a speed sensor.
