whats the best tranny for my K5?

Default whats the best tranny for my K5?

i wanna install a new tranny in my K5 and one that will handle the power of a later engine upgrade. Friends tell me i should go with a turbo 350 but im not convincied....what do you guys think?....i currently have the auto 700r4

The 700R4 can be built to handle some serious power and having an overdrive gear is nice!

I would much rather have an updated and performance built 700R4 with it's lower first gear and overdrive capability. You can get away with running lower gears in the diffs with the overdrive for highway cruising and still enjoy the benefits of lower gearing for off-road.

ill think ill do that ill just upgrade my 700r4. anyone know of a good place to get the rebuild kit at

ok ive been everywere on the net and i cant find a performance rebuild kit for my 700r4...all i can find is to get it to factory performance..or am i just dumb for thinking i can upgrade it....trannys arnt my thing
