when in over drive something smells

Default when in over drive something smells

i have a 1990 k5 with the 5.7 350 TBI and when i drive in over drive something is burning...my tranny fluid is the right color and its not leaking....and it onl smells when in over drive when im in drive its fine....anyone have any ideas?

Have you been able to pin point where the smell is coming from? What does it smell like exactly?

no but its imediatly when i go into over drive....and it smells like burning oil but not as stong...its hard to explain

Could be burping fluid through the vent and is burning on your exhaust. Try shifting to overdrive and then immediately pulling over and searching for telltale smoke or wet fluid.
