Default When to replace fuel filter/fuel pump?

Just a general, for my information question. What mileage/time frame should I be looking at to change a fuel filter as routine maintenance? Same question for fuel pump?

Vehicle is a 1992 K1500 Blazer

Thanks

sounds good to me.

i have a1990 chevy silverado with 170,000 miles on it and the factory pump just went out, other cars have seen them go out as early as like 70k.

got to watch out tho with higher mileage trucks if the fuel filter has never been changed it can take the pump out if you change the filter. Best to change it

the restriction the pump had before you change the filter is suddenly gone and it can free spin faster. sucks but it happens seen it happen on a few trucks at our shop and even my old 97 silverado. i would say the cut off would be around 150k then i would start to worry about the pump going out.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be looking out for that. Any symptoms of the truck I should be looking for when it's about to give out?

random stalling but most of the time it just goes out, if it wont start bang on the tank and try to start.
