Have you done a pressure test on the fuel system? If not start there. Somewhere on here there is a good diagnostic thread for this. I'm on my phone someone help me find it please and post the link for him

Maybe bad injectors? Also, when you turn the key to the "run" position, after the fuel pump runs do you hear any gasoline moving or spraying around in the tank?

You gotta be methodical. One step at a time. First step you've done. Since it runs when you pour fuel or starter fluid down the carb, it's a fuel problem. Next step: Do you hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds when you turn on the ignition? If so, you've verified the wiring and the fuel pump relay. Still won't run? Verify you're getting fuel. Low tech: just stick your finger under the injector (If it's a TBI unit) when trying to start. Does your finger get wet? If so, you're getting fuel. At this point you might check your gas and see if it's good. you might have water in your fuel. Hi Tech: check your fuel pressure. if it's good you either have a problem with an injector or wiring. Also, check for bad gas.

Best: Get a real service manual, not a haines or chilton. Follow the diagnostic steps for your problem.
