i got a 89 blazer with a 4.3 and 71k miles i bought it 2 days ago and it had been sitting for the past year. The blazer was running fine but it was low on gas after i put gas in it and left the gas station it shut off and did not want to turn back on i towed home and i changed the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, and fuel filter i tried turning it back on it turned on but it would not idle. I'm runnig out of ideas could someone please help me.

 

I would check the fuel pump. Same thing happened to me. Tried a billion other things only to find out it was the fuel pump. Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the ignition key to the "on" position? It should make a humming sound for like 2-3 seconds. If it is not, then for sure it's your fuel pump and you'll need to change it. If you do hear it priming, you could still be having a fuel pump problem. What you should do is get a fuel pressure guage and hook it up to the Shrader valve. Then turn the ignition to the "on" position. The guage should read approximately 55-60 psi. If it reads lower, than you may have a bad fuel pump and in need of replacing. Let us know what happens, and we'll try to keep you updated.
