Hello everyone, I just bought a 79 K5 Blazer and while the AC is running the engine revs. Idling and Driving, I can hear a clicking noise from a component under the hood when the revving occurs, any ideas what is causing this?

Does it have a throttle kicker on the carburetor? It would be a solenoid (electric or vacuum-operated) that bumps the throttle open under certain conditions. It should be adjustable, but I don't remember the specs for adjusting it.

 

No idea Tom, it runs fine with the AC not running, I'm going to get it over to my mechanic this week to figure out what it is. I'm not up-to-date with this truck, not sure what is original and what has been updated yet.

Good luck. I wish I could be more helpful, but it's been a long time since I've worked on one of those and I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for breakfast any more.
