Default 2002 Blazer dashboard noise

I have a 2002 Blazer LS that has a rattle near the area of the windshield, radio speaker, and passenger side airbag. It's difficult to localize. I lifted the speaker screen but couldn't feel anything loose. Dropped the glovebag down but still couldn't find anything loose. I'm leary of fooling with the airbag cover. Any suggestions?

Run a search for "hood+hinge", maybe putting in "swartlkk" as the author (both without the quotes, but keep the '+').

Yup Kyle lead me on the right path when my '02 had that odd rattle. It was the conacle washers on the hood hinge that were toast. Put a folded up cloth under the hood on the weather strip to lift the hood a bit at the rear. Close the hood, drive it & see if the rattle goes away. Mine was an odd like plastic in steel sound, I damn near tore the dash apart wriggling things, hitting things etc.

Thanks, Rottidog and swartlkk. One washer added to the hood hinge bolt solved the problem.
Rottidog, I understand your frustration. I was seriously thinking about taking the
airbag cover off to see if something in there was loose. That could have been real bad if the bag had gone off...even if I had removed the fuse or battery ground...there was still the possibility of static. What a relief!
