those k&n filters are supposed to make a difference, is that what the majority of that is? cuz i usually only do 55-60 and no AC or anything. and im definatly not gonna run 75 in a 55 here after theyve come down w/ the new laws and e/t

Like WhiteTie BlackJacket said,we must really be missing something... because I very rarely take off fast and I usually never drive over 55 on the highway.
Mom's Envoy is our gas-sucker... according to the built in mileage calculator, it averages 15.8-16.5MPG

RE: 29 MPG!!
The K&N filter is by far superior to stock/factory filters. They are worth it if you arent going to do a cold air intake kit or you are still under warranty. It helps, supposedly they increase mpgs, I am not sure since the second I bought the blazer I dropped one in. Also if you inflate your tires about 3-5psi higher than factory recommended it will increase you mileage since there is less friction. Also if you have a clean fuel filter and new spark plugs and wires it helps. I am not sure other than what I have mentioned how I get that kind of gas mileage, but when I am around town I only get 16-18mpg and when I mix highway and city I get about 19-20mpg. And if I am doing 70mph I only get like 19mpg.
Hope this helps. I plan on actually ruining that gas mileage by lifting and bigger tires and a brush guard with lights. so we will se how long that gas mileage lasts.

I don't believe that number either. but if its true then congrats. You obviously have more patience than the most of us.

RE: 29 MPG!!
Yes, it came out to 29MPG for two different fill ups. It has come out to 28 before but that was without using cruise and varying from 55-60. I was shocked too, but I've only recently discovered the beauty of 55 MPH. Plus, yes, it is correct that I fill up right next to the highway at the beginning and end of the trips to make sure it is strictly highway calculatiing. I usually not only use the same gas stations, but the same gas pump.

RE: 29 MPG!!
Oh and forgot to mention, I never draft anyone, especially 18 wheelers. I avoid rock chips at all costs. Not just the major chips but the fine speck-chips in the surface of the clear coat at the front of the hood...

RE: 29 MPG!!
Wow, rough to believe but I'll try and bring mine down as close to 55 as I can.

RE: 29 MPG!!
Hey Lenny my Blazer gets 22-23 MPG at 70-75 MPH. This is for sure because it did this every time I calculated it on the way to California and back, 4,000 mile trip. I think 19 is pretty low for you to be getting at 70 MPH....or maybe my Blazer is just supernatural.

RE: 29 MPG!!
The first highway trip I took in my Blazer, before I got the 30" tires, and brushguard and lights put on, got me 24 MPG and that was doing about 75MPH on the higher speed part of the highway, only slowing down to 40MPH when going through towns...
