I own a 97 4d 2wd LT and was driven this morning in the St. louis MO area and they recieved about 1-2 inches of snow that stuck to the road. My blazer completely let me down. Slid all around. almost lost it once (fishtailin). Put it in low and it helped a little but im very disappointed.
The ABS corrects too much in the snow. SLid into a curb from the slidin (no damage).

some tips for snow driving with 2wd!?!?!

slow down? i drive in ny almost all winter long in 2wd and i have no problems.

 

didnt get above 15 most of the trip.

How much weight you got in the back

 

Just look at his sig! He has two huge subs in a box I would safely guess he's got about 150 lbs if not more

 

I've never had an issue yet this winter either and I guarantee I've driven in worse weather then 1-2in lol. Oh, and for the record my 4x4 hasn't worked since I bought my truck, so I'm 2wd all the way right now.
I've never gotten stuck or spun out unless I did it purposely. Never really had any scary moments either. I have NO weight in the back besides a socket set. Grant it mine is a 2dr, so I have the weight of the spare tire.
I think winter driving comes down to the driver. I you slow down and take your time and know your defensive driving there's no reason you should be slipping and sliding everywhere. Another thing to take into consideration is your tires. What kind of tires are you running?

 

Sisk has a good point. In the end it comes down to the driver, drive defensively and at the capability of your truck and you should be fine

 

Tire: OFF BRAND LOL bought from an illegal immagrent when i lived in texas. moved to St. Louis MO about 1 year ago

 

tires were brand new have about 75% left now. got them for $160 for all four

 

I'm guessing blazerguy2001 is also 2d. 2d and 4d are much different. 4d is about 5 feet longer. less weight in rear from spare tire. Does subtitle make any difference in length; mines an LT::Yours? Also i drove about 15mph the hole way. It was slick snow: compacted from all the other cars driving on it. Tires are just plain o'l tires. nothin special. Definitly not SUV material.

mine has weight in the back from the system but it doesnt feel like it helps compaired to last year. the only time mine slips or slides is if i make it, i have just standard uniroyal liberators on it and there about 45-50"% tread
