Default 3.8 vs 4.3

Hi everyone, new guy here.
Planning on getting a used 2000 Blazer here in a couple days, and I was wondering what differences are there between the Buick 3.8L and the Chevy 4.3L? How does the stock 4.3L make 15 less HP than the stock 3.8L? 190HP vs 205HP?

Default RE: 3.8 vs 4.3

Different horses for different courses. The 4.3 was designed as a truck engine that produces 250 lbft. of torque at only 2800 rpm, most of which comes in even lower on the rpm scale. It was designed as an engine for low end grunt to help with towing and carrying. Remember, horsepower is what you read about and torque is what you feel.
