Default 35xStability Test

I have a 1985 K-5 Blazer with a 6" suspension lift and 35x12.5x16.5 tires. I failed the NJ stability test. Anybody with ideas on how to get legal?

Welcome aboard and I'm sure a lot of us are wondering - what is the NJ stability test?

Where in NJ do they do this test at? I'm from NJ and I will be lifting my Blazer soon, so I need to get an idea what their requirements are.

Maybe they drive in a circle until two wheels come off the ground...

^^^^^ That just spell disaster but would be funny as hell to watch.....from a safe distance.

As for getting legal, get some sway bars and maybe some restriction straps/chains that limit the flexand you should be good to go. Then when you hit the trail pull that stuff off and get on it.

a quick google search led me to some jeep forum with a discussion about it. not sure about a blazer, but they were saying you cant be higher than certain limits, ground to doorsill, tire height, ground to roof....they had measurements also but, again, i dont know if its the same for a blazer.im not sure if thats what the stability test is or if that is just height restrictions. there was also talk about other locations being much more lenient than some, so maybe if you try i different place, you might pass

I know around here, the headlights aren't supposed to be any higher than like6 or 7 feet or so off the ground...
