Default 4.3L w/ Blown 4L60E > 6.0L LS w/ 6L80E

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer with a blown 4L60E, and a 4.3L with 90k miles but the valve seals are going out on it. Instead of dumping money into repairing the 4.3L and the 4L60E (again), and considering I have another vehicle to drive while I make this happen, I'm planning on building a 6.0L and picking up a new/reman 6L80E to throw behind it.

I'm assuming that I'll need a standalone system to control the 6.0L/6L80E combo, and most likely a custom transmission crossmember, but I wanted to hear from other users to see if anyone's done a swap such as this. I know SBC/LS swaps have been done a million times over, but the 6L80E seems to be more "in theory" than "in practice" in the forums.

My goal is to basically have the drivetrain of a Tahoe/Yukon dumped into the smaller S-truck chassis and drive it as such. Aside from the usual I/H/E/C combo on the 6.0L, I won't be sending it down a drag strip anytime soon so massive amounts of power aren't needed. That being said, I'm also open to subbing out the 6L80E in lieu of a NV3500/NV4500 as well which I've seen done before and know it's possible.

Any swap guys wanna chime in on this? Any idea how the stock PCM will react to not seeing an engine or transmission in a standalone environment? Custom gauges are already a given as the AutoMeter Invision will be my choice of readout.

I've also done the ls swap on my 2000 blazer using a 6L80e.... But I decided to use the Current Performance direct harness replacement. I pulled out my engine harness and installed theirs. Keeps it all looking factory and all the gauges work. I had to get into the tune and change a couple things via HP Turners but if you don't have that just make sure they handle it for you....or get your tuner to flip a couple of switches in the tune.

did you have to do anything crazy with the trans tunnel to fit a 6l80e in it? I’m looking at one for my 95 jimmy
