Thanks for this video, I've actually never seen a tear down of a 4L60E.

You are very welcome. I thought it might be of interest to people. You can tell the guy knows his way around a 4L60E by how quickly and confidently he goes about the teardown!

That's a really good video. He has several videos on different 4L60E's and there's one on there with a tear down of a 4L80E. He breaks them down and explains what each part does it's great.

Hope that my 3000$ rebuild does not fall into this category...

...nice videos.

Ditto!

Mine was rebuilt in town by a local shop. It is a smaller city, 25,000, so I'm hoping reputation matters to them. :-)

The owner made me promise to remember to never tow my boat in overdrive like I had.

I also Installed an OBD-II transmission temperature gauge.

Do they make a specific temperature gauge for that type of use? been wanting to get one but didnt know if they made them as a dedicated display.

I installed an Ultragauge to read the trans temps. I'm really happy with it.

On my 4L60E trans, there is a port on the side of the trans for a sensor to be installed. I could not get this plug out. It was as though red Loc tite was used in the installation from the factory.
