Also remember this,if you dont do the work yourself then DONT buy anything. They will NOT warrant the parts. So if you buy a pump and they install it and it goes bad a day later you are out of labor costs. I learned my lesson when I went cheap on a airtex pump last year. Never again.
Hence, why you buy quality parts AND use a reputable mechanic.

Though, I do agree, I don't know of a mechanic the will warranty the labor on a part they did not sell you. Good point to all!

Wow. I balked at 200 for a complete assy for my Tbird. Bought Airtex from Amazon.
BIG mistake - The pump works fine, sender REALLY sux.
I'd go with a $155 rebuilt before I went carter or airtex.
More Information for RETECH RE0481S

If you can get parts and rebuild assy, Bosch is good, so is Denso. But the AC Delco is way I would go. Even Delphi might not be good choice.

Yea, I purchased the pump to save money since i thought they were going to give me a huge markup on it. After 600.00 later replacing the pump twice he asked why did i buy the part. I said to save money. He said he would of charged me what it cost and nothing more. i learned my lesson.

Most shops will not cover parts if they didnt buy it.

My cousin got a "ebay" pump for his ford escort. It lasted 3 months. Matter a fact the day they left to drive a billion miles to Los vegas for vacation they got 11 miles from the house and it died. Lets just say he was not happy lol.

Haha i have not heard that one yet. I have to vouch for that car though. I has almost 300k miles on it. Original motor and trans. Suspension is whacked and the front end needs replaced, but the motor purrs like a kitten.

the only problem with that is the way it works at my garage is if you bring the part and its defective and have to tear it all apart again you will be charged the labor for that, but if we get the pump ourselves we eat the price. im so glad i work at a shop where i dont have to deal with these crazy prices, i just do everything myself
