Default Advice on 2003 blazer 2wd

Hey y'all, never done a 350 swap before. Have a 2003 blazer 2wd. I've done plenty of 4.3 rebuilds and etc. Wanting to know what your all's opinions would be on a weekend driver. Old school 350, 2000s 350, I've heard a lot about the 5.3 LS swaps. Have access to a nice 80s 350 with nice th350 trans. Guess my question would be, what's the most cost effective route to take this. I'm sure plenty have done it, just want to hear some opinions and helpful tips. Don't like this thing sitting and looking pretty with nothing in it. I know there is plenty of post on this. Old post equals old advice. Not really to familiar with the 2000s models in the blazer form. I know they haven't changed much.
