AC blows 75 degree air...yesterday blew cold.

Under hood see line of thrown "grease" or something on hood under wrap. what gives?

 

Did you check all of your connections? Lines, etc?

 

Is the grease directly above the compressor? If so, the front seal needs replacement. If you still have the OEM Harrison HT6 compressor, you might want to consider a Sanden compressor, MUCH better design.

 

Thanks for replies...Razor, I am not a mechanic. I had the AC overhauled 2 yrs ago, I think with new compressor...Hook, yes. A thin line right above the belt. Does it mean less than new compressor?

 

Classic symptom of the front seal leaking. It can be repaired, but with parts, refrigerant, & labor, plus the fact that the case seals are a poor design, probably be less expensive, and better in the long run, to install a Sanden compressor. They bolt right on, no modifications necessary.
