Default Annoyed at "Service Engine Soon" light come on.

I have a 2003 Chevy Blazer. I had this vehicle for 3.5 years and the SES light came on a few time. I always went to my garage and had the problem corrected. But now it came on again. This light has come on too much then any of my previous vehicle or any that I drive. Even if I am annoyed at my vehicle, it kinda stupid to replace it being it is only 6.5 years old and plus I am not finacially ready. I called my local Advance Auto and they don't do dianostics. What would be your advice? If you say get a scanner, which would be a reliable and cheap one to get? And one that can be used on different vehicles?

I thought the autozone's advertized they'd read the codes for free. A bunch of places do that, at least you know what code its throwing and could possibly scour the 2nd gen tech forum for possible fixes/advice. I figured they'd read the codes for free in order to sell you a part instead of you heading to the dealer's service bay.

X2!
Take it to Autozone. Get the code, come back, and do a search for that code. We can't do much without that code.

Any OBDII reader you get will work on any OBDII compliant vehicle.
