So both of my torsion bar mounts are worn. I removed the nut on top,and attached some dog chain on em and chained em down. No more clunks,and its held up for a few days so far. Its only temperary till the new ones come in the mail.

lol I'm the master of jury riggin stuff, usually not mechanical stuff mostly wiring and such but yea I do

it depends on what its on. lol On my blazer i do everything the right way(most of the time). Now on other beater vehicles that i dont plan on owning for a long time then i do whatever i can to save money.

 

I once used the tin lid of a can of Copenhagen as a temporary replacement for a missing radiator cap when out in the middle of the wilds of Kansas. A bit of Permatex and some soldering wire got me to a garage where I could get a proper cap.

I've had a few others over the years but that has to be my best one yet.

 

I wouldn't call what you did as jury rigging. I would call it a temporary fix. It's just that sometimes the temporary fixes work so well they become permanent.

 

I am a self proclaimed Epoxy master. I use that stuff for almost anything.

I have had an old beater Toyota with rotted fenders... I used expanding foam in the holes, shaved them smooth, and bondod them to make them look OK to sell it. That was a total jury rig, and first bump it would have all fallen off.

 

Lol that copenhagen comes in handy! I have about 10 skoal cans and probably 5 or 6 copenhagens in the back of my truck haha

 

Haha you know i just got home from a 2 hour drive and it did great. I may just forget fixing it for a while. Chain is a wonderful thing. I chained a broken motor mount on my old 85 chevy truck. and its been 5 years. still holdin up!
