Default Back of Center console?

I was just wonderering what is on the back of the center console at the rear seats. Its either an ash tray or cupholder. but what id really like to know is could I replace it with one from the junk yard?

Simply a blank plate that goes in that hole. Seems like GM had an idea of adding something there at some time but never did.

BTW I'm guessing you are talking about the 2001 GMC in your photo album??

Yes just a blank color matched panel, mine was gone so I mounted a 110 AC inverter under the floor console in front and mounted a switch and 110 outlet in the missing panel hole. As I worked in the console I found the panel had been knocked inside the console under the mounting bracket.

An optional audio control panel was available that occupied that hole in the rear of the center console.
