Thumbs down back glass noisy as all get out!!

i have a 1998 blazer 4 door and my rear glass is about the loudest thing in the car besides the radio...as long as i have it turned up. i did a quick search on the forum here and i didnt see anything about this...if i missed something please let me know.

anyway, like i said, my rear glass seems to make a lot of noise and i was wondering if you guys (and girls) have figured something out to make it quieter.
IT DRIVING ME NUTS!!

Blazers do it,at least some of the 2nd gens, and a LOT of the first gens. Including mine. As far as i know the noise on my 91' comes from the latch rubbing together against the tailgate window. I tried readjusting it into a tighter fit with no win. All i can do now to kill it is a wrap of electrical tape on the window side of the latch and it'll work for a week or so then repeat.

My 99 does the same thing. i just wrap it a little with elec tape and it will last for maybe 4-5 months for me (depending how much you open and close it)

I've found that hockey tape lasts longer and doesn't leave such a gooey residue.

i am pretty sure that its coming from the hinge up top and not the latch. i can wiggle the glass in the top passenger corner and get the same sound that i hear when i drive. is that what you guys are talking about putting the tape? on the hinge pins. because mine seem pretty loose and i havent had this problem on my other 2 blazer. but both of them had tailgates and mine has a lift gate.

im talking about the little U shaped thing that latches to the tailgate. over time it looks like it actually gets worn away so filling the whole with something will stop the squeak (if that is what the noise is)

oh ok...
it seems that my latch is plenty tight and its the pins for the hinge that make all the noise. im going to try to wrap them with tape and see what i get.
