I used green scotch brite to scuff the sides and then cleaned it real well. After that it was just point and spray.

Are we talking about paint/bedliner or deoderent, spray on or roll on. If someone mentions PH balanced I might loose it. Just kidding,.

have you had any flaking off with the spray? I know on my bumper it flakes off by the wheel i have to touch it up every once in a while

I've flipped tree limbs up into the rockers while wheeling and had no problems. I did however throw a rock with the mower the other day while mowing and it put a small chip on rear driver's side door panel. Other than that, no problems. I just figured that it took a pretty good lick to flake it.
