Default Bell housing bolts

Curious if there is a trick to getting the bolt on drivers side right, the one right against the firewall. Tried ****ing around with a universal and prying it over with the engine mounts undone. Any tips would be great.

Zr2 I picked up for 100 bucks

3 ways:

1. remove the transfer case and lower the back of transmission
2. cut a small flap in the floor behind the accelerator pedal and bend it back when you are done
3. raise the body

All three will work. I chose #2 on mine. #1 and #3 are just too much work IMHO.

Default Thanks for the reply

Ya that’s what I was thinking I’m wondering if I will be able to get at the top left by removing the manifold and y pipe and heating a 15mm wrench with a torch and bending it to a degree to where I can get ahold of it

I'd raise the cab.

Default Update

Did not have to raise the cab or lower the trans took my intake off and just worked the bolts with a custom bent wrench.

That would be a pain also. You'd have to disconnect the heater hoses and upper radiator hose, plus pull the distributor.
