Default Blazer fuel pump guage shorted

I was hooking up my trailer to my truck with the supplied trailer wiring and i had a short. I found the short itself and fixed it. Everything worked on the trailer again and I got the wiring straight. Then I jumped in the truck and saw that the fuel gauge was reading completely empty.. I thought It was strange because I had a half tank Just 30 seconds ago.. So now my fuel gauge is reading empty with the low fuel light on. Is there a fuse or something that may have blown or part of the relay itself? Thanks in advance for the help

Check the ground for the fuel pump. Located at the rear of the vehicle near the bumper in the middle usually.
