Not that difficult, but if the head gasket is blown and he was driving on it leaking coolant into the oil, the engine may not be worth a new starter.

Agree that the starter isn't the biggest issue. A head gasket on a 4.3 is not terrble either normally. I will say my last one was a tbi which I am sure is base 10 versus calclus knowing gm. The shame is after cash for clunkers (scam) there are not a whole lot of good cores at the junk yards anymore. Used to be plentiful. There are almost no 2 dr blazers never mind zr2's.
I always liked the xj, they are one of the most reliable vehicles on the road. If you do not take it past 200k you're doing something wrong.

If the head gasket wasn't blown if be fixing it right back up. But it's just not worth the money or time. I certainly prefer the luxury of the blazer over the simplistic interior of the xj

ive owned xjs this is my first blazer . as far a drive ability i pick the blazer but wheelin id take my 93 xj back any day
