So...

I did something really stupid..accidentally

My horn doesnt work and my parents invited me out to dinner. So i was following them and had something stuck on my rear tire and it was making a tapping sound and it was driving me nuts. I have open exhaust so i stuck the blazer in N and revved on it to get his attention to pull over for a min.Well i went one too far and at soon at it hit reverse i slammed it back into N. it went into reverse and the rear tires locked up and the engine stalled and i coasted it to a parking lot. I started it up and all seems well tonight. Drove for another 45 minutes...Gawd it hope shes alright...

Oh man, did you at least find out what was making the tapping noise?

I hope everything is alright under the hood. Good luck.

Prolly a rock in the tire.

Engine most likely fine. The u-joints, rearend, and trans on the otherhand took a good shock.

I did that to my firebird one time doing about 65 , It stalled the car out and made a hell of a bang , but it was alright . But I had a drive shaft made one time and I was cruisen with some buddies ( this is about 20 years ago ) going way faster than I should have been , and the drive shaft was to short it fell out of the transmission , caught the road instantly . All I could see was road and sparks , we almost went right over end for end . And it was of course my dads truck . Even today I don't feel responsible , the drive shaft should not have came out like that . The garage that did the work said that I must have been doing j 's , but there were no marks from rubber of any kind . And the only thing I was doing wrong was speeding .

I did find what was wrong with the wheel,a piece of duck tape was on the center. enough to make a tap noise..

The ujoints was replaced this past summer....If they are hurt, its ok as i dont have to melt out the damn nylon rings again.

the rear end...ehh couldnt of been any more damage then me doing wheelies etc all the time lol.

Done that in my 86 s10 truck 2.5l about 7 years ago I pulled out of my friends drive way and he lives at the top of a hill so its hard to see what is coming up the road you kind of just got to go for it and pray that no one pops up over the hill while pulling out, So i had it in 1st gear and manually shifted up, I looked in my rear view and noticed a big truck coming up on my *** so i threw it from 1st up into drive well i did it to fast and went right into reverse. my truck came to a sudden stop and the engine backfired.
Luckly that truck slowed down and seen me before he slammed into me.
I thought I blew up my motor or at least dropped the tranny. it started up and I drove home.
