Default blazerforum road side assistance please

I'm on the side of the highway. yuppie.
I had the subs thumping and the song ended, then my Rpms just starting going haywire along with my voltogauge. it was a hefty stutter.
puller over and restarted the car fine. okay? go to drive. coasts fine until I give it gas. then the crazy happens. Rpms stutter about 700 to 19 and the voltometer climbs with every press of the gas until its past the 3/4 mark.
checked my wires, good. fuses on thedash look good. unhooked my posi to the amp and it still did it. belt looks fine.
the battery light isn't a flashing constant it looks more like bad ground. airbag flashes too.

I am idling fine on startup but only when I go into gear And throttle. the voltogauge rises with throttle. battery light flickers (nonconstant flash) and it went out.

coincidentally Ohio dots freeway service stopped right after and helped me out. alternator /voltage reg sound right to anyone? I made it off the interstate, pulled into a gas station and my truck acted as if nothing happened. not sure if I want to drive home though...

sounds to me like to voltage reg has went out allowing the alt to charge higher, not really sure why that would cause a weird feeling on the gas. Possibly an odd idle but I cant say for sure.

seems like it was the increased rpms acting on the alt., overcharging and going in a loophole fail-safe. just a theory.

hear that? its the sound of my paycheck disappearing!

That's an odd problem, but I agree that it sounds like your voltage regulator. Make sure you post back and let us know what the problem ended up being.

Everything is running smooth for now. After replacing the Alt & Tensioner last night my SES light disappeared. However the stutter on Stop&Go came back today. Not sure if it has to do with the rain.

Autozone has a volto reg but the review says it isn't a fit for GM vehicles. The only review, mind you but I hate to drop 35 bucks and it actually not fit. I'll try Rockauto if all else fails junkyard. As for now, I'm leaving the amp unhooked. When I get to the Volt Distro I'll do a big 3 and add another power cell in the back.

EDIT: If the voltage regulator was a separate component lol. Glad I got that over with.
