blown trans...what else to fix since its out?
New to the forum, new to me 1992 s10 blazer w/ac 4x4 2dr 4.3 and 125,000 miles. The truck was my grandpas and hadn't been driven much in the last 12 years. The body and interior were in pretty good shape and the price was free so I thought it was a good deal. I put on new tires, cat back exhaust, shocks, fuel filter, and converted the air conditioner to 134, drained coolant. I drove it around MN for about 100 miles then decided to take it with me to New Jersey then the problems started.
Got into Wisconson and the fuel pump and heater core went out simultaneously. Had that fixed for a grand and was on my way again.
Then I got into Illinois and the trans got hot and blew fluid all over underneath of the blazer. I made it to Ohio and it wouldn't go anymore. I am now done pulling the trans and having it rebuilt next week.
I am looking for help on what to look for and what to replace. I am ordering exhaust manifold studs, serpentine belt, trans mount from Rockauto.com
Rockauto list several radiators also, which part number would be the correct one. Thanks in advance for the help, trying to learn on the fly with this one.
