Hi Fellow Forum Members,
As some of you might know from a earlier thread of mine a couple weeks ago. I will be shopping for a chevy blazer when I get home from my vacation in late April. While I prefer a find a 4 x 4 blazer or possibly the right trailblazer. I am curous how the chevy extreme does in the snow and rain considering that it is a 2wd instead of a 4 x 4. Also, Is there much of a diffrence between the gas mileage per gallon between a chevy extreme and a chevy blazer 4 x 4?
One of the reasons why I ask about the chevy extreme is that if it isnt that great in the snow or rain. I might as well decide to end up getting a toyota GT which I prefer if I have to end up getting a 2wd car and I can find one that I like at the same price as a chevy extreme.
Of course, I prefer getting a chevy blazer 4 x 4 if I find the right one that I like and has everything that I want.
Thanks in advance,
Eaglefan

MPGs are going to depend on how its been treated over its lifetime, mileage, tune up records and parts used, and driving habits. EX: if the Extreme was owned by someone who thought it was a race car, and they've been putting hard miles on the car with lots of jack rabbit starts, then don't be surprised to see the mpg lower than whats advertised. I believe factory EPA esitmates are 15 city for 2wd and 14 city for 4wd. I want to say its 18 or 19 highway for both, give or take 1 mpg.
My Blazer is a 2wd (not an extreme) and it does great in the rain, however thats because of the tires I have on it. That was a big concern of mien because here in Fla we get rain almost every afternoon from June-late August/early September. No idea for snow since I live in Fla, but on tirerack.com other users have said my tires fare pretty well in the snow.
