Default complete power loss

I have a 2001 that has had problems with the gages going on and off once in awhile for the past year. Just recently i have lost complete power for about 10 to 20 seconds. I see the gages fluctuate and then have power again. The radio time resets so I dont believe its the ignition switch. I just replace the battery and checked the main fuse 175 amp under the battery tray and checked the wires. Every thing looked good. I hope this solves the problem but if not any suggestions? I was told that the old battery (3 years old) was bad by the dealer even though the car started for the last two months in cold weather. The new battery does seem stonger.

Keep an eye on it. Hopfully it was just a loose connection that was fixed with the new battery. But just for added insurance check the other ends of the cables.

Had the same problem with my Jimmy a little while back. It would completely lose all power after backing out of a parking space ad die. Jiggling the wires or taking them off and reconnecting them would bring back power like nothing had ever happened. Turned out there was something broken internally on the battery. New battery, no problem since.
