Default Crossrail max. load??

Hi,
My 2002 Blazer has standard roofrails, and crossrails on top.
I like to transport a canoe ( old town) on top of the crossrails.
Is this to heavy? canoe weights about 40 kg or 88 pounds.
Glad to hear your experiences / recommendations!!
Grz. Hank.

You are fine to transport your canoe. Ive seen people with VW's doing this.

My rails have a sticker that says "Max 200lbs". Your canoe should be no problem at all.

Yeah you should be fine the only thing I suggest is to tie it to the rails that run front to back rather than the ones that run side to side. Basically just use the center rails for your "platform". I personally don't trust tying anything to the center rails incase wind gets under it and pulls up really hard. I just tie it all to the side rails and have never had a problem even with 150+ lbs of cargo up there for a 1600 mile trip at like 75 most of the way.

I have a basket rack about fifty lbs and put multiple kayaks on that with no problem
