Default The day from hell

Today started out to with a reverse problem after the Jimmy motor swap. The transmission was rebuilt by some fellas that use to come by the shop, the older one was claiming to be a transmission specialist. Problem today being the reverse is slipping. I reviewed all the information here and came to the conclusion the reverse boost valve needed to be updated. After dropping the pan and finding all the clips inserted between the spacer plate and the valve body I was quite upset. This being that you cannot remove anything unless you drop the valve body. So after checking and cleaning the boost valve in the pump and reassembling the pan, the reverse is no better. I moved on to freshening up the muffler and tail pipe. New/used parts in great condition. This went fairly smoothly. After moving back to the motor the radiator sprang a leak and i was able to put a temp patch on that with some super glue. On to more diagnosis. Then the intake hose for the heater core blew out after a test drive. I had a spare and installed that. Shortly after that, a death rattle coming from the lower end appeared. Sounds like it is in the flex plate. Time to stop for the day.

A new day brings good news. The death rattle turns out to be the torque converter bolts. I did not loctite them and they have backed out. I don't usually apply the loctite until I know things are good. I may have to pull the transmission out so it is all good.
