Hi, thanks for answering. Here in Peru, i have seen some K5 Blazers, all of them with v8 engines, but the only I6 is mine. My doubt is about power. Do you think that my engine (I6 250ci) is a low powered one?
Some weeks ago i went to the beach and when we were on the sand i felt the truck too slow and with low power. I have to say that my tires are very worn and a noise like "trr" "trr" was heard from the front axle.
Actually it was my first time driving on sand.
Another thing i noticed is the great (!) level of fuel consumption on sand.

Normally my Blazer is giving 20 miles per gallon of 84 octanes gasoline in highway and 10 in city. Is it normal? i think something is wrong; 10 mpg is very low.
Could you please send me your email?

Thanks

deffinitly sounds like something is clogged like a fuel filter but then again you losing power on the sand hhhmmm well the lack of power to my guess could be that the sand is deep therefore taking alot of power to get outta the sand but then your gas mileage question leaves me to ask when the truck is on go smell the exhaust does it smell alot like fuel, also check your air filter is it clogged with sand in it? let me know

Your mileage is indicative of stop and go traffic with a large vehicle. Especially with an underpowered engine for the application. There are things that can be done to an I6 to make it better, but the aftermarket is very small, especially when compared with the v8's.

I would have to agree that general maintenance should be performed. Plugs, wires, cap, & rotor along with all filters is where I would start. You'll probably want to get that front axle noise fixed as well. Sounds like you may have an outer bearing going bad.
