Default First time towing

Well next weekend Ill be taking the olds on its first towing expedition. Going up to a parts yard and towing a 4x8 closed trailer. I have the factory tow package so im good in that department. The trailers empty weight is 850lbs. Shouldnt have more then 1200lbs in it. mainly body panels, bumper covers ect. Trip is a little over an hour each way. 95% highway. Temp will be in the high 30's so cooling will be ok. Just replaced the rotors and brakes, so were good there. Will check the fluids and top off if need be. I still have to look for the trailer wiring, I know its tucked under there some where. Other then that anything else I have to check/prep?

Just make sure your tire pressure is good, then hit the road!

double check the lights

test your plug in the back vs the plug on the trailer, then have a buddy double check all the flashy-blinkies flash and blink when asked too...

make sure the trailer has a spare, you have a jack for it (when at full load) and a lug wrench that fits it.

make sure the tags are straight (if it needs it) and that everything is tight.

check you load before leaving, and double check if you stop.

stay out of the fast lane...

you should be ok man GL and take pics!
