The front diffs are the same, the cv axles are different between the ZR2 and non.

But that is way out of my skill level do you know how much that would maybe run me? also what years can I get diffs from my local junk yard only has 2 1996 4 doors at the moment
Sas would be sweet, a buddy of mine is doing one rn on a zr2. And he’s cutting fenders and crap too. It’s a shame really.

You are looking for a 1992-1996 Chevy blazer front diff. Could get one from the same years jimmy’s as well. If yours in a 96 you will have to get one with the flange style cv’s. Or switch out the cv’s as well. Your call.
EDIT: I miss read the previous conversation sorry. You do not want the 92-96. You want the 98-2005 diff. My mistake, sorry if I confused anyone.

Did you check your gear ratio? Easy way is to throw some tape on the tire and one u-joint cap down at the rear axle. Line them up and start counting rotations of the driveshaft per one rotation of the tire. Any other questions please ask!

Look for S-10 or Sonoma front diffs, too. Same as the Blazer/Jimmy.

The only differences are that the '98 and up trucks used a plug-in splined style CV axle, and the pre-98 used a flanged bolt-on style like the one on Outfitterdesign.com.
I asked and they said people have made them fit with a 6" lift and cradle drop. But the only 6inch lift I can find they say it doesn't fit 2 doors and that's what I have

Still, I don't understand why you couldn't use their Dana30 diff with the non-ZR2 flanged CV axles for a 95-97 S-series? <shrug> I don't know for certain that there's not a difference between the flange mounts themselves from a ZR2 to non-ZR2, but I don't think there is.

Well if someone want's to send me one, I'll happily test it out on my '02 Sonoma and report back how it fits. 3.73 gears and a locker please!
