Default General Availability of Used Parts?

Hey folks!

New Blazer owner but old car enthusiast. For the first gen s10 blazer, how easy is it to find good used parts? Whether it is on this forum or online (I can't use the forum's classified section until I've been here for 10 days, so I can't see that yet).

Excited to be a part of this forum and community!

Welcome! I don't have the answer to your question but I'm going to follow to find out myself. I don't see much 1st gen builds going on, mostly 2nd gen. What year do you have? I have a 94 s10 4x4, which is still sitting in my yard. Should be on the road soon.

Here's a great place to find used parts. They even have used engines.

Thanks, Jones531, for the new place to find used parts for the Blazer and GMC Jimmy. One tip is to use the following in putting in your vehicle info--Year____Make ______Model: look for S10 Blazer/GMC S15 Jimmy. It's not under Blazer!
I notice they say they have 100 locations in the US, but i didn't see how to locate nearest one to you---in case you would like to shop in person.

That is true..Need to use the S10 option..I normally have stuff just shipped from there...But it would be nice just to walk on in and yank a part...

I have a 94 4x4 4.3 v6 S10.

Up to now I was able to find all the parts needed.

Used parts have a downside in one respect.
If it is a part which should not break such as engine internals, transmission, suspension and such or body parts which rust off, chances are that used parts have the same defects or can have them.

I had two Blazers of the same kind differing by about 800 numbers on the VIN, same production month and all. Some parts were shot on both vehicles in the same way or the same place.

Know why something went bad, then you can look out if the part you want to buy has the same problem or if it is fine.

Junkyards can be good places for body or mechanical parts if something breaks, but have a close look at the part before buying.
