Glutton for punishment
These darn cars! I'm on my second one,a very cost effective unit to run as I pick up so many parts vehicles and then sell them for scrap and usually make about $200 per hulk, plus I never have to buy parts. But for heavens name just WHO decided the steering column should run inside of the frame!??! It seems this one design flaw hinders so many otherwise simple tasks combined with the dreaded dashboard issues to be almost Nissan!
It took me almost 3 hours to swap out the booster in my 97 today, looked like a 45 min job, read on this site can be done in 40 minutes, maybe if you took the unit apart the day before! Those nuts are plainly visible, but I couldn't get a tool on them-what a joke!
The worst of all this is I am about to bid on ANOTHER one of these! Has many parts and will come cheap($200 or so) My wife is about to throttle me for sticking with these awful cars-trouble is they are so damn reliable...sigh...here I go again

The unit I was interested in came up for auction on 10-17,started @$100 and immediatley went to over $500! And this is for a ragged out Jimmy that would cost easily $1000 or more to put on the road, let alone repair or replace all the damage issues plus tires! Unbelieveable as I really needed that unit and previous auctions have let them go for $200! I guess that other old Jimmy owners are now using my strategies! Damn! I have to keep my mouth shut!
