Default Headlight protective film

Hi all,

I have some new headlamps I'll be installing to which I wanted to protect with a film covering.

Have any of you done this? What are your thoughts?

I saw on a Tundra forum that one of their members like this brand.

I’ve been looking at something like that. Definitely going to do it eventually, because I Just did a headlight restore job on my 02 and I know the uv protectant I used will probably wear off within a year. I could just reapply every 8 months, but the film will last way longer.

But I was just going to use a roll of 3M clear vinyl and an Xacto knife. $20 max, I think (unless I keep procrastinating and prices go up again)
I have no idea if that will mess with the refractive index or whatever, but the “headlight film” I’ve seen looks an awful lot like it’s just precut 3M clear.

I could be wrong. It’s happened before.

As an FYI, I went ahead and purchased the headlight film from Lamin-x. There was actually a positive review form someone with a 1999 Blazer. I'll make a post about what I think if it once I get it next week.
