hey blazer folks
h damn ive been busy and broke working on my ride,i installed a 6 speed out of a 1999 camaro, its a T56 so it was a pain had to buy a different crossmember from a company called g force, they suck bad,
i was done just went to hook up my drive shaft and it didnt want to go,so i looked and damn,on my 2005 2 door RWD blazer the drive shaft at the front that goes into the trans,,theres this stupid dampner thats a round chunk of metal, like a little over a 1/4 inch thick, its hitting the damn back of the trans case,so im screwed once again.anyone ever removed one,or does anyone know if it can be removed ?
new drive shafts are 561.00 without tax.and they are doorman brand but they dont have the dampner.soooo yea haha any ideas guys

yea they come off,i took a grinder with a cut off wheel on it and made a couple slices two of them and peeled it apart then theres a round metal piece, you just spray some lube and take a hammer to it and it pops off,i took my drive shaft to get it shortened today and they said they dont know what the hell those things are for and that that's the first thing they do is take them off and chunk them.they get old and wear out, theres a thin piece of rubber inside it,but anyways the 6 speed T56 is in now making a small piece of metal to mount to shifter to move my shift stick forward about a inch and a half.because its now in my first cup holder haha.later
damn haha you would ask me now bro, lol,i was going to,because i couldnt find ANYTHING online about this.the guy at the drive shaft shop said he's been doing it for 30 yrs and he didnt know what they were for and he talked to a guy thats been doing it longer and he didnt know,at this point i was thinking damn they put them on model T's haha.so they take them off and throw them away, like i did, sorry man.
but no its really easy,i just made two cuts one on each side then split them off, then removed the center piece.its just because it was hitting my T56 6 speed trans case, the shifter is on the back of it,basically where your front cup holder is.so im doing some center console mods right now, well until yesterday when the garage door almost fell down on my blazer,it started raining really hard,so i went to shut the door and it was in a bind,so i kept pulling it down and now its wedged, its like 3 ft off the ground on one side and about a foot off the ground on the other side, its all jacked up,thats gonna cost some money.
santa's not coming this year to my house
hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS lets go brandon.lol
