Ok so there is NO s10's where im at and if there is its 5 to 6k.
I found one for 500 its a 95 pretty clean black interior/exterior which is what i want bad, but the motor is bad, has 163k miles and it has a new tranny replaced 5k miles ago should i go for it and find a motor or wait longer and see what comes up?

It's up to you really, you should be able to find a real nice one for around 3 grand. Where are you from?

I'd keep looking around. Wouldn't hurt to try to make a deal closer to what you want to pay by calling around and talking to the owner. Just because they have 5-6K listed doesn't mean they won't take less. You should be able to get what you want under blue book value.
Another thing. You'd be much better off dealing with a private seller than a used car lot. Sometimes these used car lots do shady things when it comes to repairs and they generally don't come down on price much.
I'd stay away from the one that needs a motor. Pulling the motor in an S10 blazer isn't a piece of cake. Not much room under the hood.

Yep - 2 tips I have:
stay the hell away from used car dealers,
and, if it looks too pretty for it's age, you'd better have a look inside ... ( i.e. coolant, oil, tranny fluid). But this is more applicable to used car dealers.
eBay can be sketchy too, especially sight unseen. In hindsight I paid far too much for this '89 S10 Blazer, even though it had a new fuel tank, 4 new tires, water pump, alt. & battery. I had to do the whole front end (minus one CV axle & the control arms), and an entire front brake job. I ended up buying new dedicated snow tires anyway, but got a decent price for the old ones. Then a year later, an engine swap. I knew what I was getting into though. The minute I pulled the dipstick, I knew this engine was nearly junk ... but the way the ad was written, & the way the guy explained it I figured I'd get a couple years out of it. I bought it mainly for the lack of rot/rust on the body panels & undercarriage.
