My blazer is fuel injected and I have the cowl sealed to the breather with a carb pan. Fuel delivery type doesn't matter you just gotta get the air to the intake with ducting.

StylinTrucks has Steel s-series cowl hoods for like 300-350 range IIRC if your going that look. I know boat vents used as cooling vents in the hood is popular with XJ guys and on my Pathfinder I actually cut up 2 good hoods to put a Toyota SR5 scoop into a Nissan hood (without all the cosmetic plastic that FILLS the hole).
