Default I Bought A Truck

Hi all!

I bought a truck today. I got a '93 Sonoma, VIN W, 4L60E. 209,000 miles, nicely broken in. Other than a gigantic, massive, crater of a dent in the driver's door it's beautiful. It has a canopy and a bedliner. I just need a truck to haul storm-damaged branches to the dump. This is seriously nice however and I may drive it more than my Blazer.

I know what you're thinking: I seem to have a slight preference for S/T series trucks and SUVs. That may be true. As potential evidence that I buy more things than just S/T trucks, I also bought a '99 Astro as a present for my sister.

Pics of the Sonoma...

I've had it twenty-four hours and I already like it. It needs an alignment and a few other things. I'll work on that over the course of the week.

It wouldn't pass emissions today. It was idling badly but did OK at cruise. I brought it home and ran a can of Seafoam through it and then changed oil and replaced cap/rotor/plugs/wires, all AC-Delco, of course. It runs at least a hundred times better. I'll take it out in the morning for a re-test. I'm confident it will pass.

I'm really glad I've owned my Blazer and my wife's Jimmy. They were great training for this truck.
