Default I have an idea just seeing if anyone esle like it

ok i have a 88 s-10 blazer 4x4 2.8l 5spd and a wrecked 81 chevy short bed i was thinking about swaping the engine and trans into the blazer its a 305 and the trans is a turbo 400

so i was wounding what u guys thought should i just take the rears and all that good stuff outta the truck or just go find some dana 44 or something like that just trying to get some ideas

The TH400 is going to make for some interesting modifications to your drivetrain to make it work... Custom driveshafts will be a must. You should be able to find a 700R4 4x4 transmission fairly cheap and rebuild it or have it rebuilt... That TH400 has a high parasitic loss to it as well.

I would do the swap but listen to kyle and get the transmission he is talking about cause that will be more beneficial to you in doing the swap!!

Just thought I'd add that you'll need a 700R4 out of a 4.3L or v8 application for everything to work right. They were put behind the 2.8L 60* v6 which has a completely different bell housing arrangement.

yea welp thanks for the help guys and ill keep u's posted on this see if u can help me anymore during the build but probably be a month or 2 till i start waiting for the freakin garage to get cleared out sucks sharing a garage with ur dad lol
