Anyone else primarily pleased with how fast their 4.3 is? How about compared to other cars/trucks?

I love the way the blazer is, gonna love it more when I get my zr2 driveline in..

My 02 sonoma rwd has alot more get up and go then the blazer does, but its also lighter and smaller lol...

I would come back, (get another Blazer but)

1. It would be a Gen1 this time. 1991-1994.. I've had a few... Tahoe LT or SyTy

2. I am "one too many" cars right now. An Infiniti J30!

I wonder if there was a "most powerful configuration" of a 4.3 aside from the Typhoon/Syclone? (I'd take either of those) and I STILL don't really know the differences between Chevrolet and GMC except that a lot of stuff does NOT interchange on the engine, you would think it would............

It really depends on the year more then the make. With the 3(maybe 4) different "engines" the second gen had, it was really hard to find a replacement...

so I totally understand lol... for the more powerful, I'm presry sure the typhoon/syclone was the only 4.3 produced with any higher output...

but I want to say that the 1st gen would be easier to slap in a small block then a 2nd gen lol...

I had an 03 S-10 with the 4.3 and the 5 speed. That thing was STRONG!

I was dreaming about a V8 swap when I found out I was going to get a Second gen Blazer with the 4.3L V6. I was really surprised and pleased at the low end torque of this V6. I like its torque curve for daily driving and for light towing. I now wish it would just get better gas MPG's, rather than more power.

I use my Blazer mostly offroad, and it has plenty of power for anything I need to do, even with a completely stock 4.3 V6. In fact, the HP and torque numbers are surprisingly close to the TBI 350 in the K5 Blazer I had previously.

Yeah, I bought my '03 5-speed new and still have it. I put a level-1 chip in it for a little extra kick. I love this automobile.

From watching YouTube vid's about the Subaru engines and some common problems that they have, I keep hearing the PM recommendations is to use the best full synthetic oil and best oil filter you can find. Change it regularly and please don't fall for the extended Oil Change Intervals. I heard 5k, yes, 5,000 miles is maximum OCI even with the best syn. oil and filter. One impressive YouTube expert mechanic on Subaru's is Eric O. on the South Main Auto channel. He is in upstate NY and has worked on many of his client's Subaru's head gaskets as well as other problems. No, this is not Eric the Car Guy although they know each other. When you get a chance, watch South Main Auto on You Tube and search for the Subaru episodes. You will enjoy his video's.
