has anybody put resistor in IAT sensor for possible mileage gain???

i know when i was a Mack Truck tech, Mack sent bulletin on install in ambient air sensor for this milage issue and it DID improve .5 to 1.0 mpg which is huge in semi tractor so i wonder?

I've heard of that mod, but I thought it was to increase power? It tricked the computer into thinking the engine was getting cooler air, and it would increase the amount of fuel delivered. Seems like that would decrease mileage. I have no first hand experience, just stuff I've read, so take that for what it's worth (not much!)

theres a small sensor in the air plenium for the intake temp they come factory with some plastic shroud around the sensor its self i cut it off and increases air flow for it for the computer to get a more accurate reading

It does nothing. The ECU immediately compensates for it.

Does anyone know what size resistor is used for this mod? Can anyone confirm that this might possibly work?
