Smile I'm buying a new blazer one piece at a time

I'm beginning to think that my 98 Blazer 4x4 will be new any day now. I'm building it one piece at a time. Johnny Cash stole his car one piece at a time in that Country song he did years ago.
Today 4 new LT tires, two bottom ball joints, two front shocks, & alignment. It does drive, ride, & steer better.
When the shop removed the bottom right ball joint it came out in two pieces. The cap where the grease jerk goes was broken off so what held it was the lower control arm. It was almost beat through the socket. Not long & I would of been driving on the frame if I was lucky. Being the right side I most likely would of not hit another car head on.
What pissed me off is I had this into two other tire shops for front end issues & nobody until today at Big O found this major problem.
I have a PO1870 code a couple of time & Monday it goes to the Tranny shop. I'm hoping for something other than a new converter.
It could be anything from a brake switch to a converter. The last time I had this issue with my 97 Blazer 4x4 they did a valve body update, basically a shift kit.
So if Brazil wasn't so far off & the Mexican Cartel to deal with driving back to the US I might of been better off to of flown to Brazil & bought a brand new Blazer 4x4. I know they where available in 2010 so I'm guessing they are still available in 2012.
Yet with all I have had to fix I still love these Blazer 4x4s. In fact I'm looking for another one. Then I'll have two to build into new Blazers. I'll have to drive this one 300,000 miles to feel I got my moneys worth. But don't laugh it may go that many.
