Default Introduction and plea for info

Hope everyone is well, names Jesse based out of Central Florida. I know this isn't the area to ask for a part but new to the forum and desperately seeking help to either locate a part or part number to try and make a repair to my rear glass tailgate. I have had 3 03's and just trying to keep this one alive and functional but having one hell of a time sourcing part or part# to narrow my search. I know someone out there might have more info or knowledge than I do and hope their eyes land on this introduction to the group. I have an image of the part but fear that if I add here as a new member and already scouted where I should post (but remain restricted) that it will cause an admin to revoke my privileges when all I am seeking is help. Anyways thanks in advance and just another enthusiast trying to keep their truck rolling and away from the scrapper.

Welcome to the forum.

As for part numbers, we would normally need the year, if it is a 2dr or 4dr and if it is 2wd or 4wd.

In your case, you will likely need to go to a wrecking yard to get what you need.

Thanks for the reply and god knows I've dug through every scrap yard in Jacksonville and now digging in Orlando/Kissimmee for it as I reside here now. Seems like GM made several variations for the mounting hardware/hinge for the rear tailgate glass on the 2003 Chevy Blazer LS 2DR 2WD. I purchased my 3rd varient of this truck 3 years ago and one of these was rusted and broken this leaving me to the vice grip method of holding the tailgate glass open. Can quite afford or want a newer truck with all the bells and whistles that are poorly manufactured these days and much rather have my Old Betty keep rolling and would love to be able to fix the tailgate especially transporting my dog but finding this piece to be a unicorn.

OK, so I have had a certain amount of luck searching out parts for these Blazers. It almost feels like I'm on a hunting trip! LOL

Very short answer:
I think the part numbers you want might be 15127566 and 15127565. The former is for the driver side and the latter for the passenger side. The part number for the pins is 15032349. (https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts-l...=M30;m=CS10516)) The pins are available new, but the hinges are not unless you can find some NOS parts on eBay.

Long answer:
Just to make sure we are on the same page, for your rear gate, do you have what GM calls a "liftgate" where the rear window is attached to a single large gate that lifts up, or do you have what GM calls an "endgate" configuration in which the rear glass lifts up and there is a tailgate that drops down? I suspect you have the latter. And then, are you looking for the hinges for the glass or the gate?

I'll explain my reasoning below, but in short from what I've been able to find, these hinges were not sold as separate parts from the windows or gates to which they were attached. But, having said that, you obviously have been able to remove them! So I don't know what to say. If I am correct, that would explain why you have not been able to find any part numbers.

Now, as to my sources of information. A long time ago I found an excellent source of part numbers and exploded parts diagrams, but they were not segregated by year or model number. You had to have some knowledge of their GM designations and and RPO codes. However, when combined with a GM parts dealer where you can search by year and model and options, you can then cross-reference the part numbers you find on the first site against the one on the second site. Even better is when you can use your VIN instead of having to pick your year, number of doors, etc. to narrow down your search on the GM parts site.

This is the site for 2nd gen Blazers: https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/chevrolet/54s-t

For your vintage Blazer there are these two sites for the rear liftgate/endgate parts:
liftgate: https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/e...t/17/ts17-511/
endgate: https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/e...t/17/ts17-545/

This is the corresponding page for an 03 2dr, 2wd Blazer that I use for cross referencing parts:
https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts-l...=M30;m=CS10516)

Going by the last page, you should have an endgate setup with the separate rear glass and tailgate.

Now for the codes to help you navigate the nemigaparts site and the GM parts sites. These are the trends I've found but I always try to double check with a cross-reference.
2wd Blazers used the code S and the 4wd ones use the code T.
2dr Blazers used a code 16 or 10516 whereas the 4dr ones used 10506

So a part that would work on either a 2wd or 4wd 2dr would have the designation ST1(16). A part only for a 2wd 2dr would have T1(16).

Looking at the picture, it looks like what failed was the pin for the hinge. These are replaceable parts. (see above)

I was surprised to see at the nemiga site there was no listing for the hinges themselves, but it turns out they are listed at the GM Parts Giant site. (see above)

Keep us posted on your repairs!

You are very welcome.

What do think you will try? Are the hinges rebuildable if you got the hinge pins?

I have one intact but one was rusted out and just roasted. Considering having a fab shop remake them from fresh steel. The particular one I need for the end gate style is premounted to the glass so hard to find new or new old stock without the glass.
