Default It's-a dying!!!! :((((((

Well guys, the Blazer's on its last legs and I don't expect it to last much longer, but hopefully it will get me through the end of this semester. Body and frame are shot, lights popping on everywhere and to boot I'm getting very little vacuum from the engine and cannot fix it within reasonable $$$. Must be mud got lodged in the vacuum passages a while ago and can't get out. Anyway, it gets worse everyday. It's got 205k on it, which isn't bad at all for being original. Just its time to go I suppose. I won't be getting another one due to the cost of fuel rising and the amount I drive.

Find the vacuum leak & fix it, $ isn't an issue more than the time may be. 5/32" or w/e washer hoses are $10 for 5 feet.
Get the lights/codes read & let us know. That's a 2nd step.

Tried that. Took it to the engines lab at school, and neither instructor could figure it out, both being master techs at Chevy dealerships before deciding to teach.

edit: I've known whatthe light has been for since it's been on; evap purge malfunction. Had all the evap parts tested with the scan tool and they're fine.

Did they try a compression test on all the cylinders? Intake manifold gasket could be shot too. What does the oil look & smell like, does it has antifreeze or gas in in?

Everything is fine otherwise. The vacuum passages are clogged, we just don't know where.

edit: We took the upper plenum off and used mechanics wire to push mud out of what we could, but there's a ton of it left we can't get to without disassembling the entire thing I think. I even seafoamed it yesterday, which only made things worse.

Yea lol. Just about the only thing this truck will be good for when I get a new vehicle is a plow truck (maybe) or a field truck somewhere. Other than that it's a rusty beer can.

bummer, but i know the feeling, except mine runs strong so i'm not "shooting" her, lol
just don't have the cash to give her the req'd care, plow truck duty only for now..
btw, i get down to your area at least once a year, cheaper to fly out of Syracuse than Toronto and I like being able to grab ammo off the shelf, check out handguns under glass (little more complicated up here), cheers
