LED's In Dash
Hey I was wondering some of you guys have LED lights in your dash and I was thinking I would kinda like to do something similar but I know there is a ton of ways to do it, but not sure what is the best way to go. I am wanting to go orange to match the soon to be added exterior paint. I would like to do it in a clean install look and have it be an easy install. Also how do you guys have them hooked up as where I live they are illegal to run down the road with them so there only use will be when I am parked so I don't want to spend a ton to do it. Also how are they being in the vent w/ A/C and heat blowing on them?
I completely replaced my stock lights as I have not found anything about them being illegal where I live. So they are mainly hardwired or replace the stock bulb in my install. I dont know how you would do them to keep stock lighting and have different ones that would over power them. The vent lights may be illegal but I dont drive around with them on much, plus they are on a switch so if I get pulled over they are off right away. They shouldnt be affected by AC or heat and havent affected anything airflow wise or temperature wise since LED's run cool.
I havent gotten around to putting a how to together yet but should be putting it together sometime soon. Also this install would not be very easy, there is lots of figuring out where stuff will work best and soldering and figuring out where to get power from. The only thing that will be easy is the actual cluster which is just replacing bulbs with Inverted 194 LED bulbs. All the others involve custom work and soldering to circuit boards or splicing wires.
Hope this helps.
